Good Times [making time]

Hey there,

Hope everyone is having a great Thursday. The surprise party for Kaelin was a big success. ;) Good times were had by all. Wasn't class awesome? God was definitely speaking to us through Kaelin.

Some of you have probably already heard, but this Friday night some of us are going camping at Devil's Den. Everyone is welcome to come. No one is really in charge of this, though. So...you're responsible for bringing you're own food and tent. Maybe you could get together with a few other people and go in together on food and a tent. Let me know if you plan to come so I can let those who will be the first few to get there (but who are not "in charge") know how many camp sites to snag. We'll be staying in the same area as usual...turn left before the bridge and look for a campsite of RFCs.

If anyone didn't hear tonight at church, the Halloween party is going to be at the student center this Saturday night at 7 (I think...maybe 6?).

As usual, we'll be eating supper at the Union at 5:45 this evenin'. I don't know about you but I just can't get enough of this crazy little thing called fellowship. Afterwards it'll be about time for Bible studies and then don't forget about the guys' and girls' prayer groups. The guys' prayer group is one of the greatest blessings God has ever given me. I wouldn't miss it for the world. It's a great way to grow closer to God and to grow closer to your brothers/sisters. It's also a great time of release. And in the guys group it’s a time to release...well, all I'll say is sometimes it can get a little windy. (Get it?) Both groups start at around 9. The girls meet at the student center and the guys meet on Old Main Lawn.

I know it seems like there's a lot going on every night...so much that there's not much time left over to do homework, but still, try to come. I believe that God will reward you for sacrificing your time that he'll strengthen you through all the fellowship your getting and that he'll take care of you and help you get your stuff done. Like Kaelin said last night, you may fail a test but you still get to go to heaven. :) And life isn't about studying and getting good grades...it's about serving and praising Him and spreading His Word. However, there are infinite ways of serving God...so don't go and fail school just because of this email. You can also serve Him by using the brain He gave you to take advantage of the education He's providing for you.

Man, I'm on a roll! But this email is getting pretty long, so I'll let you go soon. I'll have to tell you more about my philosophy about balancing school and grades and about life in general some other time. :)

“Do not deceive yourselves. If any one of you thinks he is wise by the standards of this age, he should become a ‘fool’ so that he may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God's sight. As it is written: ‘He catches the wise in their craftiness;’ and again, ‘The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are futile.’”
1 Corinthians 3:18

“What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world yet forfeits his soul?”
Matthew 16:26

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
Romans 12:1-2

Email List 2 [refuge]

!Holas mis amigos!

Hey, I added a couple of names to the list and took off one that I put on the list by mistake...so, save and reply to this email until it gets updated again. Again, let me know if there is anyone who wants to be added to the list. If anyone wants to be taken off let me know.

Thanks again to everyone for your prayers and compliments for the Wednesday night Bible class. I know God worked through the prayers, and the compliments really boosted my confidence. Thanks! Kaelin will be taking over next week so be prayin' for him.

Wasn't retreat AWESOME!!!? Marshall it was AWESOME to see you get baptized! Brotherrrrr! I don't think I've been more on fire since Elizabeth and Lexi and Cathy got baptized last year. Allen Diles was awesome, Nathan's singin' group was the bomb. Good times, good times. It was the kinda weekend that you just never want to end. Amen?

Well, it's about that time. Remember, we'll be eating supper at the Union at 5:45. Please come. :)

Now for this week's verse. Actually I better look one up. I didn't forget any of the ones I had planned for class tonight. Here's a little something to continue the idea of God being our refuge and our protector:

"But the Lord stood at my side and gave me strength, so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it. And I was delivered from the lion's mouth. The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom. To him be glory for ever and ever. Amen"
2 Timothy 4:17-18

One more verse (not about refuge):
"God gave him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God." 2 Corinthians 5:21

Well, have a great Thursday and c-ya at the Union.

In Christ,
Mitch

Email List [zephaniah 3:17]

Hey party people,

I've finally updated the RFC email list and it's HUUUGE!!! If you’ve never gotten an email from me, I either got your address off of the info sheets that were up in the student center a couple of weeks ago or by typing in your last name and figuring it out. If you don't want to be on this list, let me know. If you're not even in the Razorbacks for Christ and I got you mixed up with someone else....sorry....let me know. If you know of anyone I've left off of the list that would like to be on it, let me know.

I mostly use this list to remind everyone of supper in the Union on Thursday nights at 5:47. I also use it to update everyone on the next phase in our diabolical plan for world domin....er.....ah.....world peace. :) It's also good for letting everyone know about other events, prayer requests, forwards (but please, limit the number you send) and anything else you want to say. I guess if you plan on using this list, save this message and reply to it whenever you want to email all of us.

Our guys intramural soccer team will start playing soon. Hopefully either I or someone else on the team will let y'all know when we're playing...we love it when you come out to hoot and holler for us. I don't think we got a co-ed soccer team signed up and that's A BUM DEAL! I could be wrong though.

Well, it's about time...no Thursday email would be complete w/o this:

Supper....union....5:43....be there.

The verse for the week is once again something I forgot to say in class
last night:

“The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.”
Zephaniah 3:17

(Cool, huh? He sings to us too!)

Well, I guess I'll let you go. Hope you have a great Thursday. And, man,
I can't wait for retreat! Good times, good times.

In Christ,
Mitchell P

El Union [matthew 23:25-26]

Howdy y'all,
Here's your weekly reminder: supper, Union, 5:45. Also, there's a guys flag football game at 7:30. Please, come and watch if the time of your Bible study allows.

This week’s verse:
“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence. Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean.”
Matthew 23:25-26

Have a great day!
Mitch
